2015 is almost here! Whether you’re continuing your yoga practice into the new year or coming back to your mat after some time away, Dragonfly now has OVER 20 classes to choose from. You can find the full schedule here. Here are some key changes, which start on Sunday January 4:
Raja Yoga Flow | Sundays 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. with Michael Formica
Raja Yoga Flow is a vinyasa style based in the tradition of the Himalayan Masters. In addition to engaging dynamic pranayama to enhance asana flow, it emphasizes the development of the strength, power and body control that is the signature of the Himalayan system. The class will include a variety of both breath work and meditation techniques, and is suitable for those looking for a more vigorous yoga practice.
Yin Yoga | Sundays 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with Sarah Hochburger
A perfect follow up to Raja Yoga Flow, Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that targets the fascia through long-held passive postures. In this all-levels class, the postures are held without muscular effort, close to the ground, for 3-5 minutes. Yin Yoga blends Taoist philosophy with Hatha Yoga to balance the flow of chi/prana/energy through the body and mind.
Chair Yoga | Fridays from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with Roberta Fortune
Yoga is for EVERYONE and can be done right from your chair! This gentle yoga class will guide you through breathing exercises, stretching, mindfulness and self-care rituals to lower your stress, while strengthening and lengthening muscles.
Yoga Basics | Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. with Karyn Arnold
New to Yoga? Want to try it but aren’t sure where to begin? Yoga Basics is a perfect place to start. Learn the many benefits of yoga in a supportive environment. All are welcome, as this class is beneficial to all levels.
