In this Vinyasa Workshop, we’ll explore the Yoga Sutra, a yogic text written around 400 CE by Patanjali. We’ll look at key concepts from the text, such as non-reaction (vairāgya) and the five afflictions (kleshas), specifically attachment to pleasure and aversion to pain, and how we can incorporate these lessons on and off the mat. Come learn about the ancient teachings that shape our modern yoga practice, and how they are still be relevant today.
The workshop will begin with a “dharma talk” about the the Yoga Sutra, and then move into a more vigorous asana and pranayama practice.
Kristi Robinson, Mandee Metzger, Laura Hutchinson, and Joe Simek will be co-teaching the workshop. They are all recent graduates of Dragonfly’s 500 HR Advanced Vinyasa Teacher Training with Rolf Gates, internationally recognized yoga teacher and author of the seminal yoga book, Meditations From The Mat.
