Digestive health is considered a key to the prevention of disease in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of natural health and sister science to yoga. According to this system, sluggish digestion results in the accumulation of toxins in the body. Join instructor Claire Huffman for an afternoon on digestion.
This class will focus on meditation, pranayama and asana to relax, massage and stimulate the body and digestive system. We’ll also discuss Manipura Chakra and how its balance/in-balance can impact our digestion. We will end the class with a talk on supplements and essential oils that can help support digestion. This class is all levels for both men and women.
ABOUT INSTRUCTOR CLAIRE HUFFMAN
Originally from Wales, Claire has practiced yoga in some form or another for many years, but it wasn’t until emigrating to the USA that her yoga journey really began. In 2008 she moved to Doylestown and met Alexis Ridge-Simek. Drawn to Alexis, Dragonfly Yoga Studio, and the calm and inviting environment, she began her journey through Hatha Yoga. She soon completed Dragonfly’s 200 HR Hatha Yoga teacher training program under the guidance of Alexis and in 2013 she began exploring Ashtanga Vinyasa and the Primary Series. Claire quickly found how this moving meditation has amazing effects on the mind and body and 2 years later completed her 200 HR Anatomy of Ashtanga Yoga under the guidance of Shari Simon. Claire has practiced yoga through two pregnancies, taught her very first class while 8 months pregnant, and has personally seen the benefits yoga can have on all bodies, all minds, and all ages and it is her aspiration to share these benefits with the world.
